CANADA GOOSE NESTING PREVENTION PROTOCOLS

Our GSC Race Management Barge is extraordinarily appealing to Canada Geese during the nesting season in May and June.


Unfortunately for them, the eggs they lay on the aluminum floor are not viable as they tend to roll around and crack in rough weather.  

Unfortunately for us, as soon as an egg appears on the barge, we cannot use it for 6 weeks.

Therefore, we have installed a system of robust articulated panels that must be opened and closed in sequence when arriving at and departing from the barge for Race Management duties. It is critical that every barge user understand how to secure the barge properly at the end of each evening.
